MedCon - Medical Consignment Management System


MedCon is Pansoft’s WEB-based application that allows to keep under control the Consignment’s flows and processes, satisfying and protecting in a safe and totally transparent way the needings of both the suppliers, owner of the material, and customers (private and public hospitals) that are the end users of all items/lots in Consignment.

  • Timely acquisition of all information related to implanted items to be replenished

  • Traceability of every single lot with reference to delivery paper
  • Decoding of Barcode Labels, no matter which is the Company to whom belongs the implanted item
  • Automatic upload of Consignment’s stock from delivery paper

Main characteristics


MedCon is a WEB-based application that does not require any software installation. It requires only:

  • a Personal Computer
  • an Optical Barcode Reader in keyboard emulation

MedCon’s main components are:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003
  • Visual Basic in ambiente .NET Visual Studio 2005 (Microsoft)
  • Application Server IIS 6—.NET Framework (Microsoft)
  • DataBase SQL Server 2005 (Microsoft)
  • Service provider with Server Farm for Housing (servers dedicated to the Customers)

  • “High Availability” (all devices reduntant and guarded 24/24)
  • Highest security of data processing (server c/o the provider with informations not visibile by other users)
  • Highest security in accessing the informations (method used to link client and server same as for banks)

  • Direct link to internet connection without third part service

The application is Multi Language, Multi Company, Multi Customer, it’s eligible to decypher the labels of the items distributed by the main Vendors in the market field (Zimmer, Johnson & Jonson Medical, Plus Orthopedics-Smith&Nephew, )


Every report/Inquiry can be filtered by any single information shown and can be easily downloaded into EXCEL spreadsheet.


The implementation process has been realized through a quality system suitable to the business field which is addressed (“compliance” with regulatory requirements mandatory for both European – Health Ministers and EU instructions within GMP — and international Pharmaceutical Industry — US/FDA ) with particular attention to security standards and database Audit trail:

  • Communication between Client and Server encrypted and protected by the same protocol (TSL/SSL) used to connect to banks’ web sites
  • Tables to define different authorization’s level for any end user (read-only or read & write) for both functions and informations
  • Complete traceability of any electronic data change in compliance to CFR21 part 11 regulations
